Almost Xmas in the Northern Quarter - Miracle On High Street | The ...

Miracle 300

There?s rumblings on the streets of the Northern Quarter that something special is heading our way this Christmas. Well I am here to confirm that those rumours are indeed true as Miracle On High Street gets set to open it?s doors to the public from Thursday 22nd November.

From the creative (some might say warped!) minds behind Almost Famous, winners of Food & Drink Pioneers and Food Hero at the recent Manchester Food & Drink Awards 2012, comes a Christmas themed pop-up bar with seasonal food and drink in keeping with the stlye of it?s big brother Famous, aptly named Miracle On High Street.

So where is this Xmas paradise you might ask? Well just like Almost Famous it doesn?t have any obvious signage and is in fact accessed via a freshly built set of stairs at the back of Socio Rehab which lead you up to the first floor of what should surely now be called ?Beautiful House?. What?s inside? Well apart from the food and drink which I will tell you about in a moment I?m going to leave it up to you to discover for yourself. Just like Christmas it?s more fun if you have some surprises!

Miracle Menu

Food first. It?s rich, it?s decadent, and it even manages to make Brussel Sprouts taste good as part of the Miracle Sandwich. Perhaps that?s the miracle itself? Turkey, roasties, stuffing, sprouts with bacon (of course), covered in gravy, stuck in a bun and served with pigs in blankets as a garnish. Awesome!

A Miracle in a sandwich?

The menu is packed full of hearty, meaty (although there are veggie options!) and warming delights, perfect for lining the stomach before you indulge in the cocktails??

Sweet Treats

Lovingly created by Tom Higham, a familiar face around ?Beautiful House? and behind many a bar in Manchester, the cocktail menu is equally, if not more magical than the food. I can?t professed to have tried them all (yet) but I?ve had a go on 5 of them and each brings something unique to the table, but each brings something familiar ? Alcohol! No pictures of these I?m afraid, but if you imagine Christmas presents in a glass you?ll be someway to the presentation. Unless you go for the Christmas In New York (my favourite) which is an ice cream iceberg floating on a dark sea of chocolate stout and Woodford!

Miracle Cocktail Menu

Of course, there?s a fully stocked bar as well as the cocktails with beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks to make sure everyone can join in the fun.
