I feel for you LOG, just over 2 years ago my fiance left me for her abusive ex-boyfriend. I havn't been in a serious relationship since. Things like that can certainly give a guy a different perspective on relationships I think.

I would like to think that there isn't any sort of "punishment" I use that word loosely here, for not being married with family in the afterlife.

I would suggest focusing on yourself for a while, then surely the relationship for you will take care of itself.
